Isabel Valverde

Isabel Valverde is a transdisciplinary performer, choreographer and scholar. Isabel developed experimental solo and collaborative performance art/dance work since 1986, choreographing embodied experiences in transversality with plastic materials and the somatic possibilities for inter-corporeality in performative and participatory mixed-reality environments. PhD Dance History and Theory (UCR), MA Interdisciplinary Arts (SFSU), and New Dance (SNDD/AHK). Recently completed a post-doc research at UFBA/Brazil (CAPES fellow). Researcher at Laboratório Mocap/PPGDança/UFBA, CIAC/UAberta, and associated researcher at GAIPS/INESC-ID, Lisbon. Founder and coordinator of Posthuman Corporealities Network Festival Symposium and Festival Danças Híbridas - Contact Improvisation and Somatic Practices.
